Membership in the Richmond Community Concert Band
Member Expectations
- Regularly attend rehearsals: Monday evenings 7:30pm-9:30pm, September through July. No rehearsals on statutory holidays or during August.
- Notify your section leader or the Music Director if you are not able to attend a rehearsal or performance. Update the RCB Attendance Jan 2025 spreadsheet regularily.(Members Only page.)
- Inform the Band Librarian when you intend on taking a music folder home. Please ensure the music is at the next rehearsal if it is needed by other members of the section.
- Pay Band Membership dues. Dues are currently set at $175 per year and may be paid semi-annually, September and January. Membership dues are set annually at the Society AGM.
- Uniforms are supplied to the extent of vests and ties (formal uniform) and summer shirts (informal uniform) and a black jacket. Members are responsible for:
- Formal - White long-sleeve shirt/blouse and black pants/skirt with black shoes and socks/stockings.
- Informal - Black pants, black shoes and socks. - Provide your own music stand, a "Manhasset" type or similar, black, not wire.
- Assist with set-up of chairs at rehearsals and performances.
- Participate in fund-raising activities.
Members should make every effort to attend rehearsals and performances. While not mandatory, it it expected that Members will attend the following events: Spring Concert, Steveston Salmon Festival Parade (July 1st), Remembrance Day Ceremonies, and Winter Concert.
