Welcome to the Richmond Community Concert Band
The Richmond Community Concert Band has an extensive history in Richmond. Formed in 1973 by Branch 5 of the Royal Canadian Legion as the Branch 5 Legion Band, we grew rapidly to the present complement of 35 - 45 musicians, with typical concert band instrumentation (reeds, brass and percussion). Bob Mullett became the Music Director in 1978 and was seen as the driving force behind the Band's development. Today, we are fortunate to have Ms Cheryl McHugh as our Music Director. The Band plays at civic functions in Richmond, such as the Steveston Salmon Festival, the City of Richmond Remembrance Day Ceremony, various public parks concerts, and entertains at seniors' facilities throughout the Lower Mainland.
Open Rehearsals During Culture Days!

Culture Days is a unique opportunity to share arts and culture practices and introduce residents and visitors to Richmond’s vibrant arts and culture community. For groups and organizations, Culture Days is a recognized platform to increase community engagement, reach new audiences and enhance member recruitment.
We are presenting three open rehearsals during Culture Days this year during our regular Monday night rehearsals. We invite you to either pull up a chair and listen to our rehearsal or bring a band instrument and join in with us. Rehearsals start at 7:30pm but feel free to drop in any time during the evening.
Rehearsals and Performances
The Richmond Community Concert Band rehearses on Monday evenings, 7:30pm to 9:30pm. We rehearse at Richmond Ukrainian Hall (Ukrainian Community Society Of Ivan Franko), 5311 Francis Rd, Richmond, BC V7C 1K2. We usually perform 8-10 times per year, at seniors centres, formal and informal civic functions, and indoor and outdoor public concerts, in Richmond and throughout the Lower Mainland.
